Originally from sunny California, Jenny earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brandman University and her master’s degree in psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts Global. She has lived on Whidbey Island since 2006 and has been involved with various local non-profit agencies and human services organizations since 2012. Jenny's experience includes working with individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of trauma, military personnel, as well as children and families. She is bilingual and fluent in Spanish.
Jenny approaches treatment and life with a soft, humanistic philosophy. She is patient, warm, kind, and respectful, utilizing a person-centered approach that allows her to help individuals focus on their unique needs and goals through dignity, unconditional positive regard, and collaborative efforts.
In her practice, Jenny combines evidence-based treatments with elements of yoga, including meditation, breathing techniques, and mindfulness. She adopts a holistic approach to brain health, helping others find balance to address overall wellness and recovery. Jenny recognizes that each person has unique strengths, life experiences, cultural and religious beliefs, and skills that contribute to their treatment and therapeutic progress.
A few of Jenny's specialties include depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, motivation, parenting, domestic violence, sexual violence, grief, veterans/active duty, stress, life transitions, and behavioral issues.
Her modalities include mindfulness, narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
